Our shop is right in the middle of Lajpat Nagar - 1, at H/106. If you’ve been to this part of Delhi, you know how crowded and loud it can get. We have racks of clothes that take up almost every inch of the floor. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. I try to keep the shirts and trousers separated, but when customers are looking through them, everything gets mixed up pretty fast. We have a small mirror in the corner where people check how they look. It’s been there since we started and has a few chips on the frame. The street outside is always full of people and vendors shouting, so it’s never really quiet inside. We get a lot of dust from the main road, so I have to wipe down the hangers every morning. I usually sit near the front door on a small stool to keep an eye on things. We don't have any fancy displays or spotlights. Just some basic tube lights that flicker once in a while. The fabrics vary depending on the season, so right now there’s a lot of cotton and lighter materials for the heat. People come here because they want something simple and affordable without the hassle of a big department store. Sometimes the bargaining gets a bit loud, but that’s just how business goes in Lajpat Nagar. We’ve been here for a good while and know the other shopkeepers on the block quite well.
