Khurana Engineering Works

Our shop is tucked away in Krishna Market over at Lajpat Nagar, specifically at B 1/217. If you know the area, you know it is always packed with people and the noise never really stops. We do engineering work here, which basically means a lot of metal, grease, and heavy machines. It’s not a clean environment by any means. There is usually oil on the floor and the smell of cut iron in the air. We take on various jobs, from fixing small mechanical parts to larger welding tasks that people bring in from the surrounding neighborhood. The space is tight so we have to be organized, though it might look like a mess to someone just walking in. We have had the same old machines for years and they still run better than the new ones sometimes. I usually spend my time talking to the regular customers who have been coming to us since we first opened. We don't do any big talking or fancy presentations. People just bring their broken equipment, we look at it, and we tell them if it can be fixed or not. Some days are slow and we just sit outside on the stools watching the market crowd go by. Other days we are working through lunch to finish a job that someone needs urgently. It is just the way things go around here.
