About Japan Foundation – Event & Planning in South Delhi
We are over in Lajpat Nagar, specifically at 5-A in Part-4. It’s a busy part of South Delhi, and there’s always a lot of foot traffic near the market. Our building is a place where people come to learn about Japanese culture or take language classes. We have a library that’s usually pretty quiet, which is a nice contrast to the noise outside. We spend our days organizing events, handling registrations, and making sure the books are in order. It’s a mix of office work and interacting with students who are curious about Japan. The staff here is a small group, and we’ve all been around for a while. We don't have a lot of flashy signs, just a simple entrance. Some days we have film screenings or exhibitions, and those are the busy times. Most of the time, it's just the sound of pages turning in the library. We get people of all ages coming through the doors. The neighborhood has plenty of places to eat, so lunch breaks are never boring. We aren't some big corporate entity; we’re just a cultural center trying to provide a space for learning. It's a practical office with a lot of posters and notices on the walls. We just come in, do our jobs, and help out whoever walks in with a question about a class or a book. It keeps us quite busy throughout the week.
