Iris Hospital

Iris Hospital is located right at 34 Lajpat Nagar IV, sitting pretty much on the Ring Road. If you’ve ever driven past here, you know the traffic is something else. It never really stops. We get a lot of people coming in because they can see the sign from the road while they’re stuck in a jam. Being in Lajpat Nagar IV means we see all sorts of folks. Some are just passing through, others have lived in these lanes for forty years. The hospital itself is a busy place with a lot of stairs and hallways that stay occupied. We deal with the usual hospital things—admissions, discharges, and the constant beep of monitors. The doctors here stay pretty busy and you’ll see them carrying charts and drinking quick coffees in the hallway. It’s a practical setup. We aren’t trying to be a five-star hotel; we’re just a hospital trying to help people get back on their feet. The Ring Road noise is always there in the background, a sort of hum that you eventually stop noticing. We spend our time checking vitals and making sure the medicine cabinet is stocked up. It’s a tough job sometimes, especially on long nights, but it’s the life we chose. We’re just local people working in a local building, doing what needs to be done for the patients who walk through that front door on the main road without much fuss.
