Holy Family Hospital

This location is on Okhla Road, which is pretty much always busy with cars and people moving around. The hospital itself sits right there in the middle of all that noise and dust. We’ve got a lot of history in this building. It isn't the most modern-looking place you'll ever see, but it’s sturdy and serves its purpose. Inside, it smells like floor cleaner and old paper most of the time. We have a lot of staff who have lived in Okhla their whole lives, so they know the shortcuts around the traffic. On a typical afternoon, the waiting areas are packed with people sitting on those hard plastic chairs. We try to keep the queues moving, but sometimes things take a while, and everyone just has to be patient. There’s a lot of routine here—changing linens, updating charts, and making sure the cafeteria has enough tea for the visitors. It’s a very grounded sort of place. We don’t have glossy brochures or high-tech screens everywhere. It’s more about the actual work being done in the wards. Some of the windows look out onto the street where you can see the tea stalls and the rickshaws. It’s just a normal hospital on a busy road where everyone is just trying to get through their day. We keep the doors open and do the best we can with the space we have.
