Goyal Health Care Polyclinic

If you walk down B 149 in Chattarpur Extension, you will find us right there. The area is always crowded with people moving back and forth, and the noise from the street never really stops. This polyclinic is a place where we spend most of our daylight hours. It is a simple setup. We have the usual stuff you’d expect in a health center in this part of Delhi. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. People come in for all sorts of things, maybe a fever or just a check-up. We see a lot of families from the nearby apartments. The fan in the main room hums a bit too loud, but it keeps the air moving. We usually have a stack of old newspapers on the table for people to read while they wait their turn. Sometimes the tea guy from the corner brings us snacks around four o’clock. It’s not a quiet job, but we are used to the pace of Chattarpur by now. The entrance gets a bit dusty because of the construction going on down the road. We spend a lot of time just talking to the neighbors who drop by. It feels like a small community inside these walls, even when things are a bit disorganized. We just keep the doors open and see who comes in today. There is always someone new with a different story to tell while they wait.
