Our workspace is at B 115 in Lajpat Nagar 1. If you know New Delhi at all, you know that Lajpat Nagar is always buzzing with people and shops. We are right in the middle of all that energy in Delhi 110024. Being at B 115 gives us a good base to do our design work. The street outside is usually full of rickshaws and people walking to the market. It can be quite loud, but we’ve learned to work through the noise over the years. We have samples and sketches lying all over the place because that’s just how we work. It isn't a polished studio you might see in a magazine; it's more of a real, lived-in space where things actually get made. We spend a lot of time talking to vendors and checking on materials. Sometimes we run out of space for all the new designs, so we have to do a big clear-out. People often drop by just because they are in the neighborhood shopping for clothes or food. We don't have a fancy receptionist or anything, just whoever is near the door says hello. We like being in Lajpat Nagar because everything we need is just a short walk away. It’s a busy, sometimes messy life, but we wouldn't have it any other way at Gold Leaf Designs. We just focus on getting the work done right here in the heart of Delhi.
