Ganesh Tent & Light House Caterers & Decorato is based in the Madangir Central Market, specifically near the Jewellery Market at A 11. Being in the middle of a market means there is never a quiet moment from dawn until dusk. We have poles, folded tents, and bundles of fairy lights stacked up against every wall in the shop. It is a bit of a maze inside our storage space. If you need to find something specific, you have to ask one of the boys because nobody else knows where anything is located. We spend half our time untangling old wires and the other half loading heavy iron frames onto the back of the truck. It is dirty, physical work, and our hands are always a bit calloused from the ropes and the metal. We also do some catering on the side, so there are usually big stoves sitting next to the tent poles. The Madangir area is always crowded, so just getting the truck out of the alleyway in the morning can take twenty minutes of honking. We don't have a fancy showroom for people to visit. If someone wants to see our tents, they usually just look at the photos we have on our phones or come to a site where we are already working. We just keep our heads down and do the work, day in and day out. It’s been this way for a long time now and it works for us.
