We are based in the Deepali Building, right in the middle of the Nehru Place chaos. Being on the 8th floor gives us a bit of a vantage point, though all you really see is the roof of other buildings and the busy streets of 808/92. It’s a standard Nehru Place office setup. We have rows of filing cabinets that hold years of records, and the desks are usually covered in notebooks and pens. The association does a lot of its planning and back-office work from here. The atmosphere is generally quite focused, with the sound of printers running and people talking on their phones. It gets quite crowded in the hallways of the Deepali Building during the peak hours when everyone is arriving or leaving. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea and keep our lunches. The office doesn’t have much decoration, just some basic furniture and some maps on the wall for reference. Most of the people working here have a long commute, so the mornings start with everyone settling in and catching up on the news. It’s a busy hub for our administrative tasks. Sometimes the elevators take forever, so we have to plan our meetings accordingly. It’s just a normal working office where the days go by pretty fast because there is always something to file or a report to finish. We are used to the noise and the pace of this part of town; it’s just how it is here.
