Shahpur Jat is such a maze of narrow streets and old buildings. We are located at 151D on the top floor. It is quite a walk up those stairs every morning, especially in the heat, but we are used to it by now. We’ve been here in this part of Ndse for a long time. Our space isn't big or fancy. It’s just where we sit to organize conferences. We spend a lot of time on the phone and sending out emails to get everything lined up. It’s a lot of work that people don’t really notice until something goes wrong. We don't have any flashy signs or a big lobby with a receptionist. It is just a few of us in a room with some old desks and a water dispenser that makes a lot of noise. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there talking until it comes back on. The neighborhood has changed so much with all the new boutiques and cafes, but we just keep doing what we’ve always done. We handle the boring details like booking halls and making sure there are enough pens for everyone. It’s not glamorous, but it keeps us busy. We try to be practical about things. If a problem comes up, we just find a way to fix it without making a fuss. That’s how we’ve always operated in this little top-floor office.
