Confederation Of Indian Industry (Cii)

The office is at 23, Institutional Area on Lodi Road. It’s a pretty quiet part of Delhi compared to other places like CP or Nehru Place. There are lots of old trees around and the air feels a bit better here in the mornings. We spend our time going through emails and setting up meetings for different industry groups. People come in and out all day for various committee discussions or workshops. The building has that solid, older feel to it that you find in this part of town. We have a lot of cupboards filled with reports and old records from many years ago. Usually, we gather in the small canteen for a quick bite or some coffee when the meetings run long into the afternoon. It is mostly about keeping things moving between the government offices and the businesses. There isn't much flash here, just a lot of desks and people working on their computers. We have to keep track of a lot of different sectors, so someone is always reading a new policy or drafting a note for a member. The walk from the main gate to the entrance is nice when it isn't too hot outside. We have a few plants in the hallway that someone remembers to water once in a while. In the late afternoons, it gets a bit sluggish but there is always a deadline for some industry paper. We just keep at it until the day ends.
