You can find us over at Dda Flats 10 C in New Delhi. This office isn't much to look at, just a few desks and a lot of filing cabinets filled with property papers and maps of the local blocks. We’ve been working out of this Delhi 110025 area for a long time, so we know the layout of these flats better than anyone else. Dealing with real estate here involves a lot of sitting around and waiting for paperwork to clear or for people to show up for meetings. The walls are a bit thin, so we hear everything happening in the hallway. We spend most of our time answering the phone or explaining how the local building rules work to people who just moved in. It gets quite busy on the weekends when people have time off to look at places. We don’t bother with fancy brochures or big ads. Usually, people just find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break. It’s a straightforward business, really. We just help people figure out their housing situations and deal with the endless documents that come with living in a big city like New Delhi. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of typing, but it keeps the lights on and it feels like we are a real part of the community here in this block.
