Chourasiya Pan Bhandar

We are right here in South Extension Part II, specifically in the Jain Mandir Market at shop 27. It's a busy little corner of the world. Most days start early when we pull up the shutters. You can hear the market waking up around us. There is a certain way the light hits the street in the morning before all the crowds arrive. We spend a lot of time just getting things ready for the day. Cleaning the glass, arranging the leaves, and making sure everything is where it needs to be. It is not a huge space but it works for what we do. People from around the neighborhood stop by, some on their way to work and others just taking a walk after visiting the mandir nearby. We know a lot of the faces that pass through here. It is nice to see the same people day after day. Sometimes the traffic on the main road gets loud, but inside the market, it feels a bit different. We don't have fancy chairs or anything like that. It is just a simple shop where we do our work. We've seen the market change a lot over the years, with new shops opening and old ones closing down, but we are still here at the same spot. It gets quite crowded in the evenings when everyone is out and about. We just keep doing what we've always done, one day at a time. It’s a job that keeps us connected to the street.
