Browni Cottage

If you ever find yourself in the City Walk Mall in Saket, you’ll see Browni Cottage up on the second floor in the food court. It’s a small spot, right in the middle of all the noise and the crowds. Working in a mall is a bit strange because you don't really know if it’s day or night outside. We’re constantly surrounded by the smell of different foods and the sound of people talking. Our days are mostly spent behind the counter, serving whoever comes by. It’s a small kitchen area, so things can get a bit tight when we have three people working at the same time. We’ve been at this location for a while, and we’ve seen the mall change quite a bit. Saket is a busy place, especially on the weekends, so we really have to be on our toes. There isn't much room for us to sit down, so we’re on our feet for most of the shift. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just focus on making sure the food is ready and the counter is clean. Prep work starts early in the morning before the mall even opens to the public. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we’ve got a good little rhythm going. By the time the mall closes at night, we’re usually pretty tired and ready to head home. It’s a straightforward job in a very busy place.
