Our office, Bali Real Estate Pvt Ltd, is over at 40 Kailash Colony Community Center. Being right near Blue Bell School means things are very noisy in the afternoon when the kids come out, but it also makes us easy to find. Real estate in this part of Delhi is a bit of a rollercoaster. One day you’re talking to someone about a tiny flat and the next day it’s a whole floor. I spend a lot of my time walking around the neighborhood, looking at properties and talking to owners. My shoes get worn out pretty fast. Inside the office, it’s mostly just desks and files. We have some maps on the wall that are probably a bit out of date, but they still work for us. I don't really like the corporate way of doing things. I'd rather just sit down with a client, have some chai, and talk honestly about what a place is worth. Sometimes people come in just to complain about their neighbors or to ask about prices in the next block. We’ve been here long enough that most of the local shopkeepers know us by name. It’s a busy community center, and there’s always something happening right outside the door. We just keep our heads down and try to match the right people with the right spaces. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of waiting for papers to get signed, but we are used to the pace of this area.
