Associated Cement Companies

Associated Cement Companies is based out of Duggal Colony on Devli Road in the Khanpur area of New Delhi. It is a dusty part of the city, which I guess is fitting for a cement business. We spend most of our time at A 61, talking to contractors and trying to make sure the cement gets where it needs to go on time. The office is right in the middle of a residential colony, so it feels very local and grounded. Delhi summers are no joke, and our office gets pretty warm, but we have the coolers running all day to keep us from melting. There is always a lot of talk about construction and building projects going on in the room. We deal with bags and bulk orders, and the phone rings pretty much constantly from morning until we lock up in the evening. It is a simple operation and we do not try to make it sound more important than it is. We provide the material that people use to build their houses and shops, and that is about it. The staff is mostly local guys who have been in the trade for years. We know the roads around Khanpur like the back of our hand. It is hard work, especially when the traffic on Devli Road is at its worst, but we just keep at it because the city never stops building.
