Apollo Hospital

Apollo Hospital in Sarita Vihar New Delhi is one of those places that everyone in the city has heard of. It sits on a big piece of land and there are always cars and ambulances moving in and out. It’s a massive operation. Working here, you feel like you are part of a very large machine. There are hundreds of us working at any given time, from the cleaners to the senior surgeons. The hallways are long and there is always someone pushing a trolley or carrying files. Even with so many people, we try to keep a bit of a personal touch, though it’s hard when things are so fast-paced. We see people from all walks of life. Some have a lot of money and some have very little, but they all end up in the same waiting rooms. The building has seen a lot over the years. Some parts look newer than others, but it all serves the same purpose. We don't spend time making things look like a hotel. It’s a hospital, plain and simple. We deal with the stress and the long hours because that’s the job we chose. It gets exhausting, especially during the night shifts when the lights are dim but the work doesn't stop. We are just a group of people doing our best in a very busy part of the city. That’s the reality of life here in Sarita Vihar.
