Krishna Market is always a bit of a scramble, and we are right in the middle of it at D 124, on the second floor. Being in Lajpat Nagar 1 means there is always noise and people everywhere you look. Our American Express office is a bit of an escape from that chaos once you get up the stairs and close the door. It’s not a huge space, but we have managed to fit everything we need into these few rooms. There are stacks of folders everywhere because we still do things the old-fashioned way sometimes. The windows look out over the market, so there is always something interesting to see if you need a break from the computer screen. We have a small team here, and we’ve all been working together for quite a long time now. We know who likes their tea with extra sugar and who prefers it black. The work involves a lot of checking and double-checking details. It isn't particularly glamorous, but it is important to the people we help. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. You just walk in and someone is usually there at a desk to help you out. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird rattling sound, but it keeps the Delhi heat away, so we don't complain too much. It’s just a regular office in a busy part of the city.
