Ajay Fabricator Works

If you go down to Vijay Market in Madanpur Khadar, you’ll find our spot at number 25. We mostly make iron gates, window grills, and those sturdy frames for shops. The shop is always full of long iron rods and flat bars leaning against the walls. We spend most of the day cutting and bending metal to the right size. It's a noisy neighborhood, so nobody really complains about our grinding sounds. We have a small area out front where we paint the finished pieces with that dark red primer so they don't rust. The brushes are usually sitting in a tin of thinner. My boots are worn out from kicking the metal into place. We don’t have a showroom or anything like that. People just bring us a drawing on a piece of paper, or they tell us the measurements, and we start working. Sometimes we have to go out to someone's house to weld something on-site, which is a change of pace. The sun gets really hot in the market during the afternoon. We drink a lot of water and keep the fans going. It’s a simple setup. We know the other shop owners around here, so there is always someone to chat with. It’s just how we live. We don't do fancy designs, just things that are strong and stay put for a long time. That’s what people around here need. We just keep our heads down and work.
