Our place is tucked away in the Sarai Kale Khan area, specifically at T86 G. If you know this part of New Delhi, you know it is always moving and usually pretty crowded with people and traffic. We are basically a large store that keeps a bit of everything in stock that people might need for their daily lives. It is a very practical setup inside, not like those shiny new malls you see popping up. We have rows of shelves filled with stock and people coming in and out from morning until night. The floors are just plain concrete and the lighting is regular shop lights that we’ve had for years. We have been here for a long time now, watching the buses and cars go by near the station. It gets a bit dusty being so close to the main roads, but that is just part of living in Delhi. We do not have a big corporate office tucked away somewhere; we are mostly out on the shop floor moving boxes or helping a customer find a specific item they are looking for. The staff is mostly local guys who live in the surrounding streets. We do not spend any money on fancy advertisements or billboards. Most people find us because they live nearby or heard about the store from a friend. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we try to fit everything in.
