A I I M S Hospital

I work at the A I I M S Hospital, specifically down in the Cath Lab on the ground floor of the Cn Centre. It’s a busy part of a very large complex. If you’ve ever been to this hospital, you know it can be a bit like a maze, but we are right there on the ground level. The lab is where a lot of the heart-related work happens. It’s not a place where people usually just hang out. It’s more of a functional, high-energy environment. We have a lot of machinery and screens, and there is always a beeping sound somewhere in the background. It feels very industrial because of all the equipment, but we try to keep it organized as best as we can. The staff spends a lot of time on their feet moving between patients and machines. We see people from all over who have been sent here for specific tests or procedures. Because it's on the ground floor, it gets a lot of foot traffic passing by the doors. It’s a serious place, but we have our moments of joking around just to keep the stress down. We don't have a lot of windows in this section, so we rely on the overhead lights all day. It’s a vital part of the hospital, even if it feels a bit tucked away in the Cn Centre. We just focus on the monitors and the patients and getting the day's work done.
