About Shri Vardhman Rice Mills – Food & Beverages in Sonipat
If you head down Gohana Road toward the Railway Phatak, you’ll find us at Labour Chowk. Shri Vardhman Rice Mills is right there where all the action is. The trains go by pretty often, and you get used to the sound of the whistle and the gates coming down. It’s a very busy intersection with lots of laborers looking for work in the mornings. We stay busy too, processing the paddy that comes in from the surrounding areas. The mill has been around for a while, and the walls have that worn-in look that only comes with years of operation. We have a small crew that handles the loading and the machine work. Sometimes the traffic at Labour Chowk makes it hard for the trucks to turn in, so we have to go out and help direct them. It’s just one of those things you deal with. Inside, the air is thick with the smell of toasted husks and raw grain. We don't have a fancy showroom or a polished office. Most of the business happens right on the loading dock or over a cup of tea. We just focus on getting the rice cleaned and packed. It is hard work, especially when the weather is humid, but we’ve got a rhythm down that works for us. It isn't perfect, but we keep things moving along every day for the community.
