Rukmini Devi Public School

This school sits in Bahalgarh, right in Sonepat. It’s a busy area, but once you get inside the gates, it’s a bit quieter. We have been running things here for a good number of years. It’s a regular school day for us, starting with the morning bell and ending when the last bus leaves the lot. We have teachers who live nearby and some who commute from further away. The building is solid and has plenty of rooms for all the different grades. We don't spend much time on fancy talk. We just focus on the textbooks and making sure the kids finish their homework. The playground is a bit dusty, especially when the wind picks up, but the children don't seem to mind much. We see a lot of the same families year after year. It's nice to see the younger siblings coming through now. We keep our records in big folders in the main office. Everything is handled right here on site. No big headquarters elsewhere. Just a local school trying to do right by the kids in the neighborhood. It’s a lot of work, but it’s what we do. The staff room is usually full of books and half-graded papers. We drink a lot of tea there while we talk about the day’s plans. The building has two floors, and the older kids are upstairs while the little ones stay on the ground floor. We have a small lab for science stuff, though it’s nothing like what you’d see in a movie. It’s got the basics like beakers and some charts on the wall. We don't use a lot of fancy technology.
