Shree Agarwal Academy

Shree Agarwal Academy is a small place in Solapur where we spend our days teaching. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a few classrooms and a small area where we keep our books. The students who come here are mostly from the nearby neighborhoods. We open up early in the morning to get things ready before the first batch arrives. The desks are simple and we have boards for writing down the daily lessons. There isn't much in the way of luxury here. We have some old fans that hum while we talk. Sometimes we run out of chalk or markers and have to send someone out to get more from the shop down the street. It’s a very local operation. We know the parents and we see the same faces every day. Solapur is a place where everyone knows everyone, so news travels by word of mouth. We don't do any big advertisements. We just show up every day and do the teaching that needs to be done. It’s a lot of work and sometimes it gets exhausting, but that is how a small academy runs. We keep track of everything in simple notebooks. It might look a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know exactly where everything is and what needs to happen next. Occasionally we have to cancel a class if someone is sick, but we make it up.
