Computer Operator

My place is out in Narainiya, which is under the Mirganj post office in the Gopalganj district of Bihar. It’s a bit of a distance from the bigger towns, so I end up being the main person people come to when they need computer work done. I have my setup in a simple room. It isn't anything special to look at, just a sturdy table, my PC, and a backup battery because the power around here can be pretty unreliable. Being in a rural area like 841438, you realize how much people need help with digital things. I spend my days filling out forms, checking results, or printing out documents for the village residents. It’s quiet work mostly, punctuated by people coming in to chat while I finish their tasks. I’ve lived in Bihar my whole life, so I’m used to the pace of things here. It’s not like the fast life in the big cities. I take my time to make sure the typing is right because mistakes can be a real pain to fix later. Sometimes it gets lonely if it's a slow day, but usually, there’s enough to keep me busy until sunset. It’s just a basic service for the local folks, nothing more and nothing less. I’m glad to be here doing this. The winters here are nice, but the summers can be a real struggle with the heat. I usually keep a bottle of water next to the CPU to stay cool while I work through the pile of papers people leave for me. It’s home.
