Sopangaon Agro Producer Company Limited

Sopangaon Agro Producer Company Limited is based out of Simalubari village. You can find us at Bhupal Basnet’s house. This is a small spot in Udalguri, which is part of the Darrang area. We started this because we wanted a way for the local farmers here to have a bit more say in how things are sold. Most days, someone is stopping by the village to ask about the latest harvest or to talk about what we should plant next season. It gets quite busy around here during planting time. We don't have a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s a local setup where we sit down with tea and discuss the problems we are facing with the soil or the weather. The heat can be tough in this part of Assam, but we are used to it by now. We are just a group of people from the same village trying to make a living. Sometimes we struggle with getting the right prices, but having this company helps us stay a bit more connected. We don't really do fancy advertisements. Most people around here know us just by our names. We are just trying to keep the farming traditions going while making sure we can support our families. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset in Simalubari. We hope the crops are good this year for everyone.
