Mahatiya Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is located over in Sherpur Sarawan. We operate out of Lajjawati’s place, which has become a bit of a hub for the farmers around here. It’s not your typical business setting. Most of the time, the air smells like grain and earth. We are just a collective of local growers who realized that we could do more if we pooled our resources together. Farming in this part of the country has its ups and downs. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when you need it, and other times it comes all at once. By working together under the Mahatiya Agro name, we try to balance things out a bit. We don't have a lot of fancy technology. We mostly rely on what we’ve learned over the years and what our neighbors tell us. It’s about being smart with what we have. We spend a lot of time talking about the quality of the soil and which seeds are actually worth the money. It's a very hands-on job. There are no offices with air conditioning here. Just hard work and a lot of planning for the next harvest. We like to keep things simple and honest. If a neighbor needs help, we try to help through the group. It is just the way we have always done things, but now we have a name for it. We are just here, day in and day out.
