Aksar Mobile Care

Aksar Mobile Care is situated in Sadar Bazar, right across from the Aakash Hotel. It’s a handy location because people staying at the hotel often come over if they have trouble with their devices. The shop is narrow but deep, with a long glass counter running down one side. We have many different types of mobile cases displayed on the wall, though some have been there so long the colors have faded. Most of our day is spent hunched over the counter fixing cracked screens or replacing old batteries that have puffed up. We use a lot of glue and heat to get the phone backs off. There is a small fan that wobbles on the shelf and helps keep the air moving during the hot afternoons. We keep a jar of water and some glasses in the back for when friends or regular customers stop by to chat. The floor is tiled but some of the tiles are cracked from when we dropped a heavy tool kit once. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular repair shop where we do our best with what we have. Sometimes we can't get the parts right away and have to tell people to come back in two days. The street outside is always full of people shopping and you can hear the music from the nearby shops. We keep the shop open until late in the evening when the bazaar finally starts to quiet down.
