Our company, Shivaansh Siddharthnagar Agriculture Development Producer Company Limited, is located in the village of Madawa Pur. We get our mail through the Kalnakhore post office. It’s out in the countryside in the Basti area, right on the edge of Siddharthnagar. Life here revolves around the seasons and the crops. We don’t have a fancy office building with a big sign. We just use a simple space in the village where we can keep our files and meet with the farmers. Most of us have been farming our whole lives, so we know what the struggles are. This producer company is how we keep things a bit more organized for everyone. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours, especially when it’s time to sow or harvest. We don't talk like businessmen because we aren't. We are just people from the village working together. Sometimes the roads get muddy and it’s hard to get around, but the work doesn't stop. We spend our days checking on the fields and making sure the paperwork for the government is done. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when we are all arguing over the right way to do something. We’ve been here a long time and the company is just our way of looking after our own community. It’s just plain, simple farming work every day and we stick to it.
