Subhawati’s place in Sahdeiya village is where we get together. This is in the Siddharthnagar area, specifically around Bhagwanpur block. We called ourselves New Bhargav Agro Farmer Producer Companylimited to keep things official. The village of Sahdeiya is where our roots are. Most of us have small plots of land. It’s hard to make a living when you only have a little bit of ground. That’s why we joined up. We want to make sure we get the right seeds at the right time. Post Karahiya Gosai is where our mail goes. We don't have a big staff. It's just Subhawati and a few of us making decisions. We talk about the rain and the soil. Sometimes the crops don't grow like we want. That’s just how farming goes. We try to help the ones who are having a rough season. It’s a community thing more than a business thing. We don't use big marketing terms. We just say what we mean. If the harvest is good, we are happy. If it’s bad, we figure out how to get through it together. Working in Siddharthnagar has its own set of challenges with the climate. We are just local folks trying to do right by our families and our neighbors. It’s a lot of work but we are used to it by now. Nobody here is getting rich, we just keep moving forward together.
