Dhobaha Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in Dhobaha village, right in the Khuniaw Block of Itwa. We use Radheshyam’s place at house number 01 as our main office. It’s a small village and everyone is pretty much involved in agriculture one way or another. We set this company up to help the local farmers get organized with their harvests. Being in a place like Dhobaha, you learn early on that the weather and the market are never on your side at the same time. We meet up at the house to talk about who has what ready to sell. It is a lot of simple conversations about rice or wheat or whatever is in season. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the bank stuff and the registration papers. Sometimes people just stop by when they are passing through the village post. It feels more like a community group than a real company sometimes. We are just trying to get a better handle on the supply chain without getting taken advantage of. It’s a lot of work and sometimes it feels like we aren't moving fast enough. But in Itwa, things take time. We just keep at it day by day, making sure the records are straight and the farmers are getting their inputs on time.
