Shyopur Kisan Unnati Farmer Producer Company Limited is located right here in Sheopur. We operate out of Goverdhan Lal Mali’s house in Madhuban Nagar. It is a local operation through and through. Most of us involved are just farmers from the surrounding area who wanted to do things a bit differently. We realized that if we worked as one group, we might have a better chance of getting things done. Sheopur is a place where agriculture is the main thing everyone does. We don't have a corporate office or a marketing department. We just have Goverdhan’s place and our own experience. It is simple work but it is honest. We spend a lot of time talking about what to plant and how to deal with the local buyers. Sometimes it feels like we are just scratching the surface, but we keep trying. People in Madhuban Nagar know us. We aren't strangers. We are just neighbors trying to make the farm business a bit more manageable. It is a lot of paperwork to keep the government happy, but we manage somehow. We aren't looking to become famous or anything. We just want to see the local farmers do a little better each year. It is about the community here in Sheopur and nothing else. We take it one day at a time and see what happens with the next crop. There is always something new to learn or a problem to solve.
