Morarji Desai Residential School

Our school is set up as a residential facility in Gajanur, which is out in the Shimoga district. It is located within a specific compound that houses both the classrooms and the living quarters for the students. Being a residential school, life here starts very early in the morning and doesn't really stop until the lights go out at night. The surroundings are quite beautiful since Gajanur is known for its natural scenery and the nearby dam. We have a lot of students who stay with us throughout the term, so the staff and teachers also spend a lot of time on site. The buildings are sturdy and practical, built to accommodate many people living together. We have a communal dining hall where everyone eats their meals, and the menu is basic local food. It’s not a luxury boarding school; it is a government-run place meant for providing education to those who need it. The grounds are large enough for the kids to run around during their free time. We have our own routine that everyone follows, from the morning prayers to the evening study hours. The pin code here is 577202. Working here means being part of the students' lives twenty-four hours a day, which is quite different from a regular day school. It can be noisy with so many kids in one compound, but it’s a lively place to be and we just keep things moving.
