About Swami Vivekananda School – Education in Shimoga
We have been here in the Gandhi Bazar area for a good while now. It is usually pretty busy outside with all the shops nearby in Kr Puram, but once you get inside the gate, things settle down a bit. Shivamogga is a nice place to run a school, though it has its daily challenges like anywhere else. We just focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the kids actually show up and do their work. The building isn't brand new, so we have to fix things as they break or wear down over the terms. Sometimes the ceiling fans make a lot of noise, or we have to paint a classroom during the summer holidays to keep it looking okay for the next year. Parents come in mostly to ask about upcoming exams or to see if their kid is behaving in class. We have a small playground, nothing huge, but it works for the lunch breaks and a bit of running around. Teachers here have been around for years, and some of them actually taught the parents of the kids we have in class now. It is a real local setup. We do not have fancy buses or anything like that. Most kids just walk to school or get dropped off by their dads on their way to work. It is just a regular school trying to keep things moving along in Shimoga. We keep the registers updated and try to make sure everyone follows the basic rules.
