Walias Beauty Parlour

Walias Beauty Parlour is located at Ram Nagar 1 on Subhash Road in Shahdara. It’s a small place, but we’ve been here long enough that most of the ladies in the neighborhood know us. The shop has a couple of big mirrors and those standard salon chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. We usually have the radio playing in the background, mostly just to keep some noise going while we work. It’s often busy on the weekends, especially when there’s a wedding or a big local event coming up. During those times, the place gets a bit crowded and smells like hairspray and various creams. We don’t really have a big staff, so it’s usually just a few of us taking turns with the clients. The floor gets covered in hair pretty quickly, so someone is always walking around with a broom. It’s a friendly atmosphere, mostly because we end up talking about local news or just what’s happening in the family. The lighting isn't the brightest, but it works for what we do. We’ve had the same sign out front for a while now, and it’s a bit faded from the sun. People just walk in, find a seat if there’s one free, and wait their turn. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day, and we like the routine of it all here on Subhash Road. We keep the doors open till late evening most days.
