Bhoora Star Saloon

You can find us right on the main road in Dilshad Garden. The shop is E-59 in Kalander Colony. If you are looking for us, we are quite close to the Gauri Shankar Mandir, which makes it easy for people to explain where we are. It’s a basic saloon for men. We have the usual chairs and the big mirrors that have been there since we opened. It’s a small space and it can get quite hot in the summer despite the fans. We do haircuts and shaves for the most part. It’s the kind of place where the local men come to sit and talk while they wait their turn. We don’t do any of that fancy spa stuff you see in the malls. It’s just straightforward barbering. I’ve been working here for a long time and I know most of the people who walk through the door. Sometimes the television is on but mostly it’s just the sound of the scissors and people chatting about the news. We keep the tools clean and the floor swept as much as we can between customers. Sundays are usually our busiest day and the bench outside gets full. We don’t have a website or anything. If you need a haircut you just show up. It’s a simple life running a shop like this in Delhi. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep the regulars coming back.
