Madern Beauty Centre

Our place is in Shahdara East, specifically in Rohatk Nagar 1744035. It’s a bit of a walk from the main station, but people find us. We have a few chairs with mirrors in front of them and a small area where people can wait. The name on the sign has been there for a long time, and we just kept it as it is. It’s a simple setup for the women in the neighborhood to come and get things done. We talk a lot while we work, mostly about what’s happening in the local area or what’s on TV. The floor is usually covered in bits of hair until we sweep it up at the end of the day. We have some shelves with bottles of lotions and creams that we’ve used for years. It isn't a fancy place with bright lights or music. We just have a small radio that plays the local station. Sometimes the water pressure is low, so we have to keep buckets ready. The neighborhood ladies come here to relax for an hour away from their chores. We know who is getting married and who just had a baby. It’s more like a community spot than just a business. We’ve been in Rohatk Nagar long enough that everyone knows where the door is. We just keep the scissors sharp and the towels clean and do our work.
