We sit here at B-111 in Siri Sampada Residency. It’s a bit of a trek up to Vidyanagar if you’re coming from the main parts of Hyderabad, but it’s home for us now. The building isn't fancy or anything. It's mostly just families living around us, so we try to keep the noise down when we’re coming and going. Most days start with someone struggling with the lock on the front door. We have a few desks squeezed in and there’s usually a pile of wires in the corner that nobody wants to touch. The light comes in okay through the balcony window, but we usually keep the curtains shut to stop the glare on the monitors. Lunch is usually whatever we brought from home or someone goes out to get something from the stalls down the lane. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always going full speed. There’s a tea guy just outside the gate who knows us by now. We spend a lot of time just typing away and talking about what needs to get done before the weekend. It’s not a huge space, but it works for what we do. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there waiting for the backup to kick in, chatting about local news or whatever is happening on the street below. It’s just a normal workplace, really.
