About J L Mushrooms – Agriculture & Farming in Satara
We run J L Mushrooms out of a plot in Wangi Village. Specifically, we are at Plot No. 943 B, which is right near the Gram Panchayat office. If you're heading toward the Wangi Post Office, you'll find us pretty easily. Mushroom farming is a lot of work and takes a lot of patience. It’s mostly about keeping the temperature and humidity just right in the sheds. We spend a lot of time checking the beds and making sure everything is growing like it should. It’s a quiet life here in Kadegaon Taluka. The village is peaceful most of the time. We get up early to start the harvest before the sun gets too hot. Dealing with mushrooms means you can't really take many days off because they grow when they want to. We started this because we had the land and wanted to do something productive. It’s not a massive factory; it’s more of a local operation. We know the people at the post office and the local officials nearby. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, but that is just part of farming. We pack everything up ourselves and send it out to the markets. It's a humble setup, but it works for us. Our sheds are simple structures, nothing too fancy. You can smell the earth when you walk in. We just focus on the crop and try to keep things moving along every single day.
