St. Xavier International School

St. Xavier International School is situated on Shambhu Path in Sareya, specifically in Ward Number 1 of Gopalganj. It’s a fairly straightforward place. We opened up here to give the kids in this part of town a place to go. The building is functional. We have the usual setup of classrooms, a small office, and a bit of space outside. Every morning is the same routine—the kids arrive, we do the assembly, and then it’s straight to the lessons. We use English mostly, but of course, local talk happens in the hallways. The teachers here are dedicated, often staying late to finish grading or planning. It’s not a fancy corporate institution; it’s more of a local school where everyone knows each other. We deal with the usual issues, like leaky roofs during the monsoon or making sure the fans work in the heat. There’s always a bit of dust because of the road, but we try to keep the classrooms decent. We don’t go in for big advertisements. If parents like what we’re doing, they tell their relatives. That’s how we’ve grown over the years. We just try to provide a solid education without all the extra fluff. It’s just a group of us trying to run a school in Gopalganj the best way we know how. We have some benches that need fixing and the playground isn't perfect, but the kids seem happy enough. It is just home for us.
