You can find us at A-6 in the Industrial Estate. It’s a place where you definitely need to watch your step because there’s usually metal scrap or tools laying around on the ground. The sound of the machinery is pretty constant from the time we open the gates until we shut them in the evening. It’s a hot environment, especially near the casting area where the metal is being worked. We all wear heavy boots and clothes that we don't mind getting dirty with grease. There’s a layer of fine dust on everything in the office, no matter how much we try to wipe it down. We’ve been running these machines for a long time and they have their own quirks that only we really understand. It’s not a fancy production line; it’s more about the guys knowing exactly when to move or how to handle the molds. We have a small room in the front where we keep the blueprints and the phone, but most of the action is out on the floor. Lunch is usually eaten sitting on crates or at the small table in the corner of the shop. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some old calendars on the wall. It’s hard, physical work and by the end of the shift, everyone is pretty tired. We just focus on getting the parts right and making sure the orders are ready for pickup on time.
