Harshvardhan Agro Centre

You can find us at Plot No. 186 in the Vasant Market Yard over in Sangli. This place is always moving, especially early in the morning when the farmers start arriving. We run Harshvardhan Agro Centre from this spot. It’s basically a shop where we keep all sorts of stuff for farming. We have bags of fertilizer stacked in the back and different tools leaning against the walls. It isn't the cleanest place in the world, but it’s a working shop. People come in, ask for what they need, and we help them find it. Sangli is a big area for agriculture, so we stay pretty busy most of the year. During the planting season, it gets really hectic and we barely have time to sit down. The tea here is strong and we drink a lot of it while waiting for the morning rush to settle down. Sangli is known for its turmeric and grapes, so we see a lot of variety at the market yard. Our plot is right in the middle of the action. The floor is concrete and always has some dirt on it from people walking in and out. We don’t have any air conditioning, just a big old ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. It’s a basic life but it suits us fine. We know the names of most of the farmers who come in. We don't bother with fancy receipts, just the standard ones from our carbon book.
