Lic

I work out of a small place called Sarthak, which is near the Vrudhashrma on Kupwad Road in Sangli. It is a bit of a walk from the main center, but it is a good spot. Being near the old age home means it is usually a bit quieter around here, which I appreciate. The building is called Sarthak, and I have a small room there with my desk and a few cupboards. I have been doing this for several years now. People in Akuja Nagar know me as the person to talk to about their LIC policies. It is not a big corporate office with air conditioning and glass walls. Most days I just have the window open to catch a breeze, though that brings in some dust from the road. I usually have a stack of files on the corner of my desk that never seems to get any smaller. People drop by without calling first, which is fine. We usually sit and talk for a bit before we even look at the papers. That is just how things are done here in Sangli. You have to be patient and listen to people's stories. I do all my own filing and I try to keep things neat, but by the end of the week, it usually looks like a paper storm hit the room. It is honest work and it keeps me connected to the community. I don’t need anything more than my pen and my ledger to keep things running.
