Dinesh Chandra Aggarwal is located at No 140/50 on Devangam Pillai Koil Street in Shevapet. If you know Shevapet, you know it is one of the busiest trading areas around, and our street is no exception. The shop is in an old building that has been here for ages, and it feels like it sometimes. We have shelves packed to the ceiling and the floors are worn down from years of people walking in and out. There is a temple nearby, so we often hear the bells and the sounds of the morning prayers while we are opening up. Most of our day is spent dealing with traders and people from the local market who need specific items. It is a lot of talking, bargaining, and moving goods from one pile to another. My hands always seem to be dusty from handling the stock, but that is part of the charm of working in a place like this. We don't have a computer system that does everything; we still use a lot of paper and ink to keep track of what goes where. It is a bit chaotic at times, especially when the street gets jammed with carts and scooters, but we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if it were quiet. We just keep the doors open and wait for the next person to walk in with a request we can help with.
