We are situated on Maricha Road in Supaul. It’s a fairly straightforward location to get to if you know the area. The school has a big gate and a boundary wall that circles the property. Inside, there’s a large open space that we use for everything from sports to morning meetings. The building is painted in a neutral color that blends in with the surroundings. We have a lot of rooms, and each one has those heavy wooden doors that sometimes stick when the humidity gets high. The staff stays busy with the daily schedule, moving from one class to the next with their registers in hand. We have a small garden area near the entrance, though the goats from the nearby houses sometimes try to get in through the gate to eat the plants. The students bring their own water bottles and sit at the long benches during their lessons. It’s not a silent place; there’s always a hum of voices coming from the open windows throughout the day. We have a few buses that go out to the farther parts of Supaul to pick up the kids. The office is usually cluttered with stacks of paper, old files, and maybe a stray cup of tea. It feels like any other busy school in this part of Bihar. We just keep things running as best as we can, day after day.
