R.M. Engineering Works

We are located out on Delhi Road in the industrial area. It’s a stretch of road that stays busy with heavy trucks all day and night, and the noise from the traffic usually carries right into the shop. R.M. Engineering Works is the name on the front, but most people just know us by the location. We do a lot of repair and fabrication work here. The shop floor is filled with lathes and welding machines that have seen a lot of use over the years. It’s not the quietest place to spend your day, but we like it well enough. There’s always something that needs fixing or a part that needs to be made from scratch. We don't have a front office staff, usually, it's just one of the guys wiping his hands on a rag to take a phone call or talk to a customer. The walls are a bit stained from the oil and grease, and there are tools scattered on the workbenches. We handle things as they come in. Sometimes someone drops off a broken piece of machinery and needs it back quickly. We do what we can to get it sorted. The air smells like burnt metal and cooling oil most of the time. It’s a straightforward life on Delhi Road. We’ve been here long enough that we know the sounds of the neighborhood. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a place that works with metal and keeps the machines running.
