About Kamal Engineering Works – Engineering in Saharanpur
If you walk through Pratap Bazar, you’ll eventually run into our shop. It’s not a very big space, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. We’ve been here for a long time, and everyone in the bazaar knows us. My grandfather was the one who first opened the doors, and not much has changed since then, except maybe the tools got a bit more modern. We do all kinds of engineering work, from small repairs to making specific parts for local businesses. It gets pretty loud during the day with the machines running, but the neighbors are used to it by now. We usually have tea together in the afternoon when things slow down for a bit. The floor is always covered in metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the work. People come in with all sorts of requests, and we try our best to help them out. We don’t have a big sign or any advertisements. Our name is just painted on the wall outside. It’s a simple life, working with our hands and seeing the finished product. Sometimes the power goes out in the bazaar, and we just sit outside and talk until it comes back on. That’s just how it is here. It feels more like a community than just a place of business. We’re just regular people doing regular work and trying to stay busy while the market stays active.
