Nabiya Wood Crafts is located in Azad Colony, right on the 62 Feet Road and very close to Shamem Masjid. The mosque is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. Our shop is mostly an open space because we need room to move the larger logs around. You can usually see the smoke from the nearby tea stalls and hear the traffic from the main road while we work. We use a mix of old hand planes and some electric sanders that have definitely seen better years. The floors are never clean because as soon as we sweep, we start cutting another piece of wood. Most of us grew up around here in Azad Colony and just learned the craft from older neighbors. We don’t have a website or any fancy advertisements. Usually, people just see our work sitting out front on the 62 Feet Road and stop their bikes to ask about it. The work is physical and we get pretty tired by the time the evening prayers start at the masjid. We keep things basic and don't try to make the shop look like something it isn't. It’s a place for wood, tools, and hard work. We just take each day as it comes and try to finish the projects we started the day before without making too much of a mess.
