Gurukul School

Gurukul School is out in Nainsukh Pura, which is part of the Rewari Tehsil. We are specifically located in Ward No. 03 of Kishangarh Village. It’s a very quiet area, except for when the trains go past on the Hisar Line nearby. You can hear the rumble of the engines from the classrooms, which is something we’ve all just gotten used to over the years. The school itself is quite simple, just a few buildings set in a dusty yard. We don’t have any fancy landscaping, just a couple of trees that give a bit of shade during the summer months. The kids come from the village and the surrounding farms, often walking or coming on bikes. Inside, the rooms have basic desks and chairs, and we use blackboards for most of our teaching. It gets quite cold in the winter mornings, so everyone comes wrapped up in heavy sweaters until the sun comes out. We spend our days going through the lessons and making sure the children are keeping up with their reading and writing. The staff room is small, just enough space for a few chairs and a table where we eat our lunch. It’s a very local way of life here. We don’t have a lot of extra stuff, just the essentials needed to run a school in the village. It’s honest work and we’ve been part of this community for a long time now.
