Our office is tucked away at B-60 in the Sail Satellite Township, over in the Dhurwa area of Ranchi. Being Steel Authority Of India Limited, it makes sense for us to be here in Jharkhand where so much of the industry happens. The township is a bit different from the main city; it has its own feel. We’ve been at this spot for quite a while. The building is nothing special to look at, just a place with desks and a lot of people working. We deal with steel, which means things can get a bit technical, but we try to keep our daily interactions simple. There’s a lot of coming and going throughout the day. We see a lot of the same faces, which is nice. It feels more like a community than just a corporate office. We have our fair share of cluttered desks and old filing cabinets that have been here since the start. It’s a practical workspace. We aren't here to make a big show of things. We just want to get the work finished and go home to our families. The weather in Ranchi can be unpredictable, but we’re used to it by now. Most of us here just focus on our specific jobs and try to do them right. It’s a honest day's work for everyone at the township office. We like the quietness of Dhurwa compared to the busier parts of the state. It works for us and the company.
